Painted Furniture = Instant Update!

Have you ever gotten one of your kids something and then the other sibling wanted one too? No?  Happens all the time in our household.  I don't always give in, but it's desk's they are wanting.  And they are hoping to have them before school starts.  Ugh -- and let me tell ya I've opened a can of worms because now there are multiple things in each room I want to do before I can call them done!
I went into Home Depot to purchase a turquoise color for these night stands.  I always, always check the oops paint section and just happened to find this pretty blue color.  It was kinda turquoisy and it was only $5 bucks so into the shopping cart it went!
The most important thing was that my sweet girl approved as well!  Yea!!

Can you even believe the transformation?!  I so love paint!  All I have left to do now...
  1. Find fabric that I can make new window panels and re-cover the chair cushion.
  2. Make some throw pillows to incorporate the red, pink and yellow to go along with this new blue paint.
  3. Paint some picture frames white {cause after seeing them in the picture I don't like the black anymore}
  4. Make a tufted headboard out a vintage headboard that was given to me.
  5. Create a large wall art piece for above the bed.
  6. Make some tissue paper pom poms. {cause she loves them so}
  7. Find some baskets {probably have to paint those}for the bottom shelf of her nightstands.
Whew!  All because of a desk! Good thing I really love doing all of this and if it makes them smile its so worth it!  I just wish I could find more hours in a day!!!

  1. Lookin good! I love the color, its so fresh and hip! I know what ya mean about not enough hours in the day. I bought new fabric and want to work on some ideas, but by the time I stop to work on them I'm to tired and its late.
    I am sure those girls will help you get everything finished.
    Have a great weekend,
    Melissa
