RED BAMBOO/WICKER SOFA TABLE MAKEOVER

This little sofa table wasn't all that bad to begin with but from the minute I saw it I knew it needed to be RED!

I gave it a really good scrubbing, took out the glass and sprayed it with CHERRY BOMB.  Good name for a red paint don't ya think.

The coverage was awesome!  This only took me two coats so not only was I loving how it was turning out but it was a FAST project. WOOHOO!

I love all of the detail on it.  I have started re-doing our youngest daughter's room with red accents and thought this would be cool for her flat screen tv along with two tall baskets on the bottom.  I had some really good idea's swirling around this head of mine until she chimmed in and told me she would prefer turquoise. WHAT?!

Things are always a work in progress around here.  Always.

Oh and in case your wondering what the heck Mango Seed Market is...well it's my little shop page where I sell my stuff locally.

Or wherever...I ship too.  Just not furniture yet.  I think that would be awesome I just haven't had the time to look into shipping yet.

PS.  If you aren't already then I'd love for you to follow along...

WOO HOO!

  1. I LOVE this! How gorgeous is that red, I love how the red makes all of the little details pop on it. She is a beaut for sure, how sad that your daughter changed her mind. But red and turquoise do look really cute together! Maybe you could do both. :)

  2. Looks great! What type of paint do you use to paint furniture like this? I have a table that I want to paint, it's a 70's style table with a shine on it (not sure what it is). Do you use cans of spray paint, or do you use wall paint, or...?? Also, should I just paint over it with primer, or should I sand it down first?

    Thanks,
    Amy

    1. Hey Amy -- I usually do not use spray paint, but I did on this one because I was in love with this red. It was Krylon. I usually use Sherwin Williams wall paint and we have a sprayer. Normally I do not prime anything because I like to distress and for the wood underneath to show through. Since it has a shine on it and you want to make sure you new paint "sticks" then I would rough it up a bit with a fine sand paper. Hope this helps! I'm sure there are other ways, but this is how I would do it. :)
