The storms were massive and spread all over Oklahoma. It's severe weather season here in our state and the forecasters have been warning us about the threat of this storm for several days.
Yesterday most Oklahoman's were preparing for the worst but hoping that the storm would break apart before it entered their county.
We were lucky where I live. We had some strong winds but the nasty stuff seemed to weaken, split then go right around our little town. We live in the area between Bartlesville & Tulsa.
Obviously, after seeing the above video other's weren't quite as lucky. Here is a few images of what families in these counties are dealing with today.

The forecasters are saying that today's severe weather will stretch from Texas all the way up into the Great Lakes. If your like me and in the path of these storms today, I pray that when the storm reaches you that it will weaken, split and go right around you.

We get LOTS of warnings here in Michigan, we head to the basement at least a dozen times each spring, but rarely does anything touch down, or it weakens significantly before it gets here. Scary stuff. And that hail is crazy!!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe that was small hail -- there were pictures of some next to a SOFTBALL! So happy we didn't get that in my neck of the woods.
DeleteGlad you didn't get any real bad weather. We didn't either - just high winds, etc. It kinda lifted up about the time they thought it would hit Tulsa. That video is unbelievable!!
ReplyDeleteStay safe.

Oh my goodness...tornadoes completely fascinate me, but the devastation is unreal! We had an F5 about 10 miles from our home about a decade ago...and a smaller one within one mile a few years later. Too close for comfort. Glad all is well with you and yours. I pray it stays that way.

Heartbroken for all affected. Praying!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are still safe after the second go-round of weather yesterday. Mother Nature is such a strong force.

So glad to hear you are all doing ok. Very scary! We are also getting some of it here in Texas.
