FALL ANTIQUE BUFFET VIGNETTE

The last several years I feel like I've struggled just to keep my house in order while trying to also keep up with our three kids schedules.  I've decided that starting now I'm going to work extra hard to change things up when the seasons change instead of just decorating at Christmas.  All of you blogging friends have motivated me...so THANK YOU!
While doing this small vignette, I noticed that I'm a little out of practice.  I used to do stuff like this all the time.  Funny how we stop doing things that we love just because we get busy & don't make time for them.

A lot of things on this buffet have sentimental meaning to me.  See that pine cone stuck in there?  A friend brought that back to me last fall from Louisiana.  It's HUGE.
The white ironstone pitcher came from a garage sale that our youngest daughter picked out.  The funny thing is that it has yellow flowers on the other side.  We have a little game we play and she will secretly turn it around so the yellow flowers are showing and see how long until I notice and turn it back around so it's all white again.  This has been going on for a little over a year now!

I didn't have any tapers so I just filled this vase with split peas and a tea candle light.  Love the color it adds!
I love the detail on older furniture, they just don't make things like this anymore.
And a few last shots of my arrangement...
The plague was my first Mod Podge project.  You can read about it here.
I didn't do much, because I like things simple.  However, this little project did get me in the mood to update a few other places in the house that I'll be sharing soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit!  I love receiving your comments.  It lets me know that you were here that way I can visit you back!

Also, don’t miss a single post – it’s easy to stay in touch!

  1. it is so pretty! I esp love that pine cone...they are big here in the South. I am always amazed at how big the pine trees are here at the ocean. Can't wait to see more!

  2. What a gorgeous buffet. You are right, they don't make them like that anymore. Your vignette is lovely and I love the stories behind each item, especially the pitcher ;)

    Have a lovely week!

  4. Your buffet is gorgeous and I love how you decorated it for fall.

For the first time since I got married 18 years ago, I didn't decorate our house for fall and Halloween. I'm determined to decorate for Thanksgiving!
