The scripture is Matthew 6:33, one of my favorite's. The color is Sherwin Williams, Outrageous Green. Did you know that you can buy a quart size paint sample for $6 vs. $18 at my favorite home improvement store! So happy to tuck that bit of knowledge away and save some serious cash with as much paint as I buy.
I used valspar dark glaze and provencial stain to glaze it and a floor sealer that dries clear to seal it.
I love these glass knobs.
So are you a fan of outrageous green? I didn't think I was, but it grew on me.

this is GORGEOUS!! I am a green fan and someone once told me "green goes with everything. God made many different colors of flowers and each flower is on a stem of green so I believe that green goes with every color" Thought this was a great reasoning for wearing something green with evry color of the rainbow! The same can be applied to decor :) I am confident this will be snatched up quickly!
ReplyDeleteClydia ~ this is absolutely beautiful and I love the color {and of course the bible verse!} ~ Thanks SO MUCH for linking up to Project Inspire{d} ~ you are a doll!

Knock me over! I'm head over heels! I love the colors, the pulls, the fine hand lettering. It's all wonderful, and I keep staring at Matthew 6:33 because it is so skinny yet precise. AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteBREATHTAKING!!! Seriously- that green! That lettering! The fine details of Matthew 6:33 being so thin, but so precise. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteTo say I love it would be an understatement! I adore it!!! Oh that green...precious! Girl you have got some talent :)
ReplyDeleteClydia, this little chest couldn't be lovelier. And I do love that green. I really admire your talent with furniture. The glass knobs are the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteLove this.... The stenciling is beautiful... Honestly my first thought of green furniture is "no" but I am really liking this color, I think you just gave me the courage to step outside the box and go green ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this green! It's a mouthwatering color! Reminds me of apples!
ReplyDeleteI love this scripture, too. You did such a fantastic job! It's so inspiring on many different levels. Makes me want to change all of our wooden dressers now to add pop to each bedroom and living space in our home! My MIL used these types of knobs on her dressers. I saved them after she passed. They weren't my taste, but now I see them in whole different light. I hope to add them to our furniture now.
Thanks for the risk in color! It's truly wonderful!

I love, love love this dresser! The color and the scripture are both wonderful. Could you elaborate more about the lettering? Was it a stencil or vinyl overlay? Did you make it yourself?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I love this dresser! Would you share your technique for the lettering? Was it a stencil? Was it stick on vinyl?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
