Henry Musser Dresser

Not much to look at is he?  Again, sorry for not taking a true "before"  picture.  I'm always so excited to get started that I remember after several steps in to start shooting some pictures for you guys!  Anyway, this is after I gave him a good scrubbing, took apart the drawers to use for extra sign material and helped my husband tighten him up then build these shelves.
Lots of love, soft tapping with a rubber mallet and gorilla glue and this guy was well on his way to becoming something much better!

We attached the shelf from underneath so none of the hardware shows.
Isn't it amazing how much difference a little paint can make?
Found this label on the Graphics Fairy.  I love her!  I transferred this on top using what I call the PENCIL METHOD...LOL.  Blow up my image to the size I need, color the back with pencil lead, then flip it over and trace.  Leaves a great outline for you to paint in.  Probably an easier way, but I like this the best, works for me so I'm gonna stick with it!

One last close up...
I really am in L.O.V.E with how this dresser distressed with the soft blue shining through.
I really have no tried and true method of making the tops look old.  I just keep at it until I get it like I want it.  This time I mixed some Minwax dark walnut stain with faux painting glaze and put it on lightly, wiped off, repeated until I got this.  I finished it off with wax.
This is what I started with...EEK!
I adore these legs...

Again, not a great staged picture, but here he is in all his "finished" glory.  I need help in the staging department.  I'm not really good at it and we all tend to shy away from things we aren't that good at.  I'll work on it, kay.

You know, pictures speak volumes.  I think I just may add an applique to the center of this drawer.  I don't know, would that turn him into a her?  I call it a him cause of the tobacco label on top.  Obviously, I am way over thinking this!  What do you think?
