FRENCHY SIDE TABLES

Friday, November 9, 2012

I found these little tables on Craigslist.  Not too shabby, but they had a leather top that I didn't like at all.  So I ripped off the leather tops and painted the tables.
We found the baskets at Lowe's.  Looking at these pictures I wish I would've painted the pulls white.  Easy fix.
I usually find all of my graphics from the Graphic's Fairy.  I painted this one on top.  If the future buyer doesn't like it then I can always cover it up.

Here's a little close-up of the distressing.  I love how you can see the blue shining through.
There has been a new antique shop open up in town called, The Brocante Market.  These little side tables are on display there and hopefully soon someone will come along and scoop them up.
{UPDATE:  SOLD}

GAME DAY: SOONERS VS KU

Monday, November 5, 2012

This post is a follow up to a post I wrote a couple weeks back when the guys flew to the KU game in Norman.  You can read about that post here.

This post is for them, to share their pictures from the air and a few from the game.

I used to be a flight attendant years ago so I love to fly.  However, just to be honest I did pray for them the entire 50 minute flight. Ha!

The weather was gorgeous for the game, plus the SOONERS won so it was a great day for them.

They had a good tail wind coming home so what would've taken three hours in a car took 40 minutes by plane.  Although, once they got back the small airport in town didn't have the runway lights on so they wound up flying to a nearby town to land.  They did wind up driving afterall, but it was only 20 minutes.  I don't think they minded!

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit!  I love receiving your comments.  It lets me know that you were here that way I can visit you back!

Also, don’t miss a single post – it’s easy to stay in touch!

ITS PARTY TIME LINKY PARTY 11-4-12

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Three Mango Seeds

There were some really great links last week!  Thank you all for sharing your great projects with us.  I'm a little bummed to say that my favorite projects that I really wanted to feature didn't have a link back to my blog.
I'm learning that its all about SEO.  All I know is that I don't want Google to zap me with their SEO lightening bolt!  And according to a blogger friend {who is teaching me lots by the way} it could happen people, so would you pretty, pretty please just link back?  Plus, the traffic it sends your way isn't too shabby either.

To link back all you have to do is add the html code in the box above to the end of your post or you can just add this link, THREE MANGO SEEDS.

So just to be sure we understand each other, to be featured next Sunday you must include the above party button OR a permalink back to my place, THREE MANGO SEEDS.  Need help?  Send me a comment -- I'd love to show you how.

Another nifty bonus is that there are 4 others hosting this party as well.  Soooo, when you link up to one of us then it shows on all of our blogs.  Moocho EXPOSURE for your project!  By adding all five or our permalinks to the bottom of your post increases your odds of being featured by all of us!  Neat-O!

Would you like to visit the other co-hosts?  I knew you did!  Here's the links to their blogs!

Blogging is really about encouraging each other, learning from each other and helping each other out along the way.  Please leave comments, mingle & make new friends.  Don't be a runaway linker.

Posting to my party means you are giving me the right to post your project and photos as well as promote on social media.  I will always give you the credit for your work.  Thanks for linking up!

VERTICAL TYPOGRAPHY

Friday, November 2, 2012

I have wanted to paint words on the front of a dresser for a while now.  I just haven't had the right dresser or come across a graphic  telling me to paint it, until this nautical one I found via Pinterest.

Right about the time I pinned this graphic, my cousin called wanting to give me a dresser.  Yay!  To be fair, I'll be painting just about anything she wants for her new baby's room.  It's a win,win for both of us.

Here's how it was when I got it, needing just a tad bit of work.

Good thing that this kinda of work is what the husband loves to do.

Here it is again after he did his thing and I gave it a quick coat of paint.

Next came the exciting part, painting the words on the front!

After adding the graphic, I distressed the entire graphic and gave it a dark tobacco hue glaze then sealed it.

Loving the way it turned out.  Now to find a buyer since we live close to a lake & not the ocean. Ha!

Like always the Lord took care of our needs and sent someone who loved enough to take it home.

FALL DECORATING IN THE DINING ROOM

Monday, October 29, 2012

Remember when I told you that I have been motivated to breathe a little bit of new life into our home's decor, especially around the holidays?  Well I moved from the vintage buffet vignette project in our entryway to our dining room.

When you walk in our front door, you see this antique buffet on the left.

And immediately to the right is our dining room.

We repainted this hutch that we found on Craigslist.

We left the inside the natural wood then added glass knobs.

You can read all about that transformation here.

We really want to completely makeover our dining room by painting, adding white beadboard and adding a new farmhouse style table with benches.

I found this centerpiece at TJ Maxx -- love that store!

Pretty huh!  I already had those large Pottery Barn candle holders but decided to make 'em fallish!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
